Cartridge filter collector for fumes and dust on trolley

The cartridge filter collector on trolley MFC11 is designed to filter pollutants deriving from dust cleaning, grinding, sanding and processing.

Main features of this collector are: high filtering capacity, maximum efficiency, ease of use, small space requirement considering its filtering surface, self-cleaning system, electric panel, cable and plug, ready to be used.

Structure

MFC11 collector consists in self-supporting panels of sturdy galvanized steel, processed by numerically controlled punching machine and pressformed by 6-axis bender. All panels are trimmed with silicone sealant and bolted together with high-strength bolts.
The central body contains the real filtering heart of the machine: cartridged and tank.
On the aspiration side, it is possible to make opens (upon request) to connect flexible pipes or a self-supported arm.

Filtering cartridges are made of polyester fabric (antistatic upon request), produced using a spunbonded procedure which ensures no variation on air permeability and allows greater filtering efficiency and high stability. Electrical conductivity on the fabric surface is obtained thanks to aluminium powder application, which mantains the fabric porous.
This kind of process is suitable to remove electric charges given by powders to be filtered, and by them transmitted to the filter media.
Cartridges’ self-cleaning system consists in compressed air backwash. It is a totally automized system, equipped with storage tank.

Valves are of anodized cast aluminum and are suit of bulkhead fitting totally in stainless steel. The membrane is instead of special rubberized canvas marked by very high mechanical resistance. Tank is equipped with threaded connection fittings for power supply, lower connectors with condensate drain pipe.
Cartridge access door on the top of the collector eases cleaning and maintenances. The door is a press-formed panel closing with sealing gasket.

The integrated electric aspirator is specifically designed and it is made up of directly coupled engine and impeller. In its upper part, there is the air exhaust open with rectangular outlet suitable to connect a pipe (available on request). Powders are extracted through a hopper and collected in the drawer, or in a plastic bag, located in the lower part container (optional).

Cartridge filter collector MFC11 on trolley is delivered equipped with automatic circuit breaker to control aspiration and wheels.

Activated carbons

Active carbons are defined as micro-pored. In other words, they only appears to be smooth, but their surface is actually dotted with holes and pores. When a gas particle hits active carbons’ surface, an attraction process is activated, according to which gas is absorbed by pores.

Nowadays, active carbons are employed in many fields to deodorize and abate solvents:

SOV abatement in painting booths
washing tanks with SOV
fiberglass workings
printings and serigraphs
waste and food sectors
gluing lines
deodorization of sewage lifting stations
general odour reduction (mercaptans, solvents, etc.)
filtration of organical solvents, sulfur compounds, etc.
fumes and dust mixed pollutants (welding)

Air flow needs always to be mechanically pre-filtered and only later treated with active carbons, so to make carbons’ life longer.
Active carbons filters designed by Gamma impianti are sized considering contact time between air and absorbent material, which cannot be under specific thresholds dictated by laws.

Welding fumes extraction

Extraction systems for welding fumes with pinpoint suction straight from the source is the best solution to keep operators and working environment safe.
A customized design and installation of this kind normally employs articulated suction arms with extenders to enlarge their work range. Suction stations are connected between them by a network of galvanized circular pipes and with a centrifugal fan located outside the workshop.

To grant flexibility and energy saving, an inverter system with pressure reading within ducts controls the aspiration capacity of the system and the power used by the fan.

Research & Development

Customized design of a centralized extraction system with pinpoint uptake involves an analysis of plant’s productive needs and layout. Afterwards, our Technical Department develops the extraction system project, consisting in:

Sizing of the correct air speed both during capture of fumes and crossing the extraction channels with the consequent calculation of the total pressure losses, depending on the piping path used.
Selection of the extraction arm and its related extender, so as to ease the welder’s work and, at the same time, capture fumes as close as possible to their source.
Using different types of extraction hoods on the articulated arms, depending on the work to carry out and therefore on the capacity needs.
Selection of the fixing points of piping and arms in the production room, with subsequent development of customized brackets.
Selection of the simple extraction centrifugal fan by considering the overall plant capacity and the load losses of the systems connected to it.
Design of the general electrical panel board for plant control, including automatic adjustment of fan revolutions with inverter system, that changes the work capacity real time depending on the actual number of workstations used, for the maximum of energy saving.

Our welding fumes extraction system are designed and built with technology 4.0, so to benefit of 50% tax credit along the entire 2021.

Grinding powder and suction systems

Grinding processes expose operators and the environment they work in to fumes and dust potentially harmful because of their smaller grain size. Furthermore, grinding powder can damage machines and electronic devices within the workshop.
These problems can be solved by a properly dimensioned extraction plant. Grinding powder may disperse and settle down in every corner of the working area. For this reason, it is necessary to extract powders before they reach the operator, in order to prevent his/her and machines contamination.

Solutions: extraction systems for grinding and polishing

Grinding and polishing produce fine powder with small grain size and high volatility, besides normal metal remainings falling on the floor.
To extract harmful powder, normally operators have at heir disposal an extraction booth in front of their stations so to leverage rotational tools dynamic. But when pieces to be worked are tiny, the best solution to protect the operators is to extract fumes directly from the plan and the frontal they are working on (whatch the video, here) so to not disperse powder in the environment.
All this is possible with a suction bench for fumes and dust connected to the extraction system or independent and equipped with fan and filters.

Know applications and measure safety needs

Suitable gear for fumes capture, filtering mode and personal protections depend on the materials you need to work and on your productive layout. Hence, it is important to analyze the situation together with your safety manager.
The main goal of a centralized extraction system is to direct all pollutants in a unique industrial purifier, normally located outside the building, near to the fan and fireplace of emissions in atmosphere, so to optimize space and maintenance works.
Purifier employes a static polyester cartridge filter water- and oil- repellent specifically designed for fumes and dust from mixed metal workings, or a bag filter when a high-filtering surface is needed.

VLEP air monitoring system

Airtracker is the new device to monitor air quality and VLEP level in working environments as workshops, warehouses and other buildings.

Functioning

Airtracker can continuously monitor air quality preventing chemical risks. Besides noise, temperature and humidity control, Airtracker keeps under control the most important parameter for operators’ health: instantaneous concentration value.
The device communicates via wi-fi with the safety manager, allowing remote monitoring and connection to the extraction and ventilation systems.

Airtracker can be wall- or ceiling-mounted. Once maximum level of pollution is reached (settable between 0 mg/m3 and 15 mg/m3), the device starts forced ventilation so to eject fumes and dust. Fans will be shutted once pollution level will be back within the threshold.

Alert system

Traffic-light LED indicates fine powder concentration in the air.
Mobile devices can be connected to Airtracker via LAN or wi-fi. Thanks to Airtracker app is possible to keep always under control temperature, humidity, fine dust concentration and noise emission.
Two inlets to connect external devices (Fire Detection e Process Control).
Three potential-free make contacts employeable for fans and the like.

Mobile extraction hood for shading

Printing and painting works create fumes and dust levitating by heating. Normally, the printed piece emits smoke even after the pressing, so polluting the environment.
MHS extraction hood is ideal for efficient fumes and steams capture. As a fact, pollution coming from the press stays within the hood as effect of the depression, to be directed later to the exhaust pipe.
Our hood was born following the requests of our clients performing heat-moulding.

Filters with active carbons are fundamental parts in industrial extraction systems to purify air from SOV and COV.
Through their pores, active carbons absorbe and keep inside organic compounds. For this reason, they are employed in purifiers for solvent and odour abatement, in many contexts as:

Bag filters

Bag filters are suitable for working environments where an efficient airborne contaminants detatchment is needed.

Filtering bags are cylinders with bottom on one edge and SNAP RING mounting system on the other, to quickly mount and dismount them from the bag bench and to grant sealing against dust.

Even bag’s bottoms can be realized in variants: classic, with central eyelet, with double laces, punctured and with flat seam.

Aramid fabric improves filtration efficiency and loss less load compared to traditional fabrics as cotton. Fabric can be replaced according to the kind and quantity of powders to be treated. Within the bags, there are galvanized steel baskets to keep the bag open (they work in depression).

Our bag filters are designed with a 3D software. They consist in self-supporting panels of top quality steel plate, worked with numerically controlled punching machines and folded by a 6-axis robot bender. Each panel is fringed with silicone sealant and they are bolted together with high-tensile bolts.

The machine’s main body contains the real filtering core of the machine, separated in two sections: the upper suction system with automized air-compressed cleaning system and the central part where bags and baskets are.

Within bag filters, venturi cones are mounted on baskets with idraulic seals, with the specific aim to improve efficiency of the auto-cleaning body.
Polluted air flow enters spaces between venturi cones and passes through filtering bags catching powders. Then, filtered air proceeds in the upper body towards the aspirator. Lastly, it is discharged outside.

Aspiration benches are the ideal solution for work environments where a wide aspiration of fumes and dusts is needed on the work plan, as during metalworking, woodworking and composite material processing.

Our aspiration bench is designed on 3D models and manufactured by Gamma impianti in different sizes, according to the lenght of pieces to be welded, sanded or grinded on the bench.

It consists in a working bench with suction front and plan. According to needs, it can be completed with suction side bulkheads and/or an articulated arm for an additional pinpoint aspiration in a specific area of the bench.

Structure

Structure consisting in modular panels of strong press-bent galvanized sheet bolted together. Support and work plan is made of re-inforced structures and columns to unload weight on the floor.
